Georgia Pig — Brunswick, GA

By Tim Ross

It’s located in an old historic wooden building within eye distance of I-95.  Enjoyed the BBQ sandwich, potato salad and ribs. The tea was sweet and refreshing.   I have lived in Savannah, GA all my life and  have a weekly visit to the GA Pig… But wait, there’s more!

BierBeisel — Los Angeles, CA

By: Alexander Dopfer

Birthplace:  Linz, Austria

BierBeisel, an expected to be authentic Austrian restaurant in Los Angeles, CA  is set to open February 27th (tentatively).  I am anxiously awaiting the opening of this restaurant to bring the true authenticity to Native Taste.  Apparently, from what I have been informed — it will be very authentic.  Equipped with Austrian beer, wine, food, and even a schnapps bar, this restaurant is on my radar and I will soon be reviewing the results!  Stay tuned.

Jack Quinn’s Irish Alehouse & Pub — Colorado Springs, CO

By Ryan McLoughlin

Irish Pub Review

I have been to many Irish Pub’s in the U.S., but about 95% of them are nothing like Pubs in Ireland.  Jack Quinn’s Irish Alehouse & Pub in Colorado Springs, CO is nationally recognized and one of the most authentic Irish Pubs I have been to… But wait, there’s more!

Sushi Ota — San Diego, CA

By:  Shoji Okumura

Birthplace:  Tokio, Japan

Sushi is incredible! Fish is really fresh! It’s the closest you can get to a Tokio sushi place in San Diego!  I am a big fan of Spicy Scallop Hand Roll, but everything is delicious.  I would recommend Sushi Ota to anyone.

Mr B’s Bar & Grille and Piano Lounge — Las Vegas, NV

Mr B’s Bar & Grille and Piano Lounge Brings Back A little Bit Of Old Vegas with a New Twist.

By Elaine and Scott Harris

It is no secret to anyone that Las Vegas has become a culinary center.  Celebrity Chefs have set up shop over the last 10 years and there are still more to come.  In a simpler time, Las Vegas was the home to dinner clubs and piano bars featuring delicious simple dishes and cocktails with a single “piano man” playing into the early morning hours.

A little bit of those times has returned… But wait, there’s more!

Yokohama Yakitori Koubou — San Diego, CA

By Hideshi Sasaki

3904 Convoy St., #108, San Diego, CA 92111

Japanese Review

This is one of my best examples of “Native Taste.”  I was in Yokohama Yakitori Koubou in Japan, and this is the sister restaurant located in San Diego — This is a result of how this place stacked up against her big brother!

First things I noticed, they are using wood charcoal (directory imported from Japan, this is very important for giving free range chicken to proper flavors)… But wait, there’s more!

Bistrot Du Coin — Washington, DC

By:  LÉON DUBOIS

French Review — Bistrot Du Coin

Atmosphere = Paris.  Food = pedestrian French.  Price = Much less then Paris!

Great place for a draft Stella and Mussels!  Mussels are not the largest but great sauce, incredibly tender steak & frites, complete with one rude waiter.  Feel like back in Paris!

Place of Birth: Paris  — Years lived outside U.S.: 24
